We wondered about the condition of the Fort Atkinson shore launch where Bark River confluences at the Rock River in the low water conditions of 2022.
When paddling from Burnt Village park with a car shuttle, the take-out point is in Fort Atkinson in the Rock River downstream just a bit. A parking lot is provided across the street and a lot of people fish from there.
After our paddle from Prince’s Point today we checked out what low water does to our usual take-out – how difficult the shore would be for our way of disembarking. For future reference, the flow this day was 400 cfs at the Rock River gauge at Watertown.
Bottom line:
Happy to say it looks quite doable and probably easier than when the water is too high.
