Prince’s Point parking lot was so flooded that young men were bow fishing from two truck beds in the parking lot.
At flow 249 cfs water was high but not highest, but maybe our highest. Water so high, Bark River Road was closed due to flooding and we had to paddle through the parking lot to get to the Bark River.
River currents were not scary but flooding made it hard to find the main channel sometimes. We turned right from the boat launch. Ends up it was really beautiful. Due to time and concern about the return river path, we had a shorter paddle than usual. Perfect for Susan though.
Prince’s Point is about 1 hour drive from Madison. Official location is Whitewater, WI. We paddled with Gene and Susan amidst buy/sell of their Maple Bluff home.
Thistle plants so were quite pretty. We saw white egret.
